Reece Whatmore

Reece has always felt a deep connection to our environment. She is working on an oyster restoration project, in which the research made her realize that in order for our gulf to remain a positive environment for both humans and animals, actions must be taken by all individuals and businesses. As a cafe lover, she was always looking to make sure the cafes and businesses she went to were taking actions to act as a positive influence on our environment and were accountable for not contributing to the detrimental addition of plastic and other pollutants to the bay.

Harper Campbell

Harper has been interested in the effects of single-use plastic since she saw the "coral was not as pretty as it once was" and soon learned part of the issue was plastics. She noticed restaurants and companies that were finding innovative ways to eliminate the plastic problem and function in an environmentally consciences way so, she wanted to highlight those to allow others to see the benefits of this eco-friendly style locally.

Due to Reece and Harper's shared interest in saving the Gulf and protecting the oceans, they founded the Gulf Protection Pledge.
